W.A.Bess Elementary School was awarded a national Blue Ribbon Award- one of only three hundred schools so honored nationwide.
“I felt my heart pounding,” Principal Laura Clark said Friday. “It’s just so exciting. We are so proud to be here in the nation’s capital representing W.A. Bess, our teachers, our students and the community.”
W.A. Bess is planning a community day at 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, to celebrate its award. W.A. Bess is located on Beaty Road in Gastonia, near Union Road.
