Father's Day in Gaston County

Father's Day in Gaston County

Father’s Day is right around the corner, and just in case it caught you off guard this year, we thought it would be good to put together some suggestions to get your wheels turning. Sure, he may be just fine if you let him sleep in, skip church, or hand over handmade cards from the kids, but this list of ways to celebrate Father’s Day in Gaston County has something for everyone, and the whole family can enjoy the celebration.

FEED HIM

Maybe the most important way to let Dad know you care is by giving him a good meal. And, we tend to think most dads will appreciate a good barbecue meal. Nothing quite says Father’s Day lunch/dinner like a plate of smoked meats and hearty sides. We shared a whole list of our area’s best barbecue joints – start planning!

FIND A BEER AND/OR PATIO

Rivermen Brewing, South Main Kitchen and Tavern, Estia’s Kouzina, Whiskey Mill, and Station (and Station is part of South Main Cycles – see below!) are just a few of the great outdoor patio dinning options in our area. Gaston Outside has a full list to check out, including details on menus, patio size, and beverages.

If you’re planning on taking him out for a drink (or sending him on a group outing with the guys), here’s a great guide to Gaston County craft beer and spirits.

THINK OUTSIDE THE (TIE) BOX

Traditional Father’s Day gifts aren’t always the way to go. Instead of another tie, why not give him a gift card to South Main Cycles. With all of the great outdoor spaces across our county, giving him another way to enjoy the outdoors with a bike upgrade (or maybe new purchase) could be just the right gift. Bonus: riding a bike is a great way to stay in shape!

There are also several barber and grooming shops in our area and in Charlotte. Give Dad a little pampering – something he likely won’t seek out for himself but could use.

We’d also suggest considering a gift card to District 8 Beer Company or The Summit Beer Shop.

GO OUTSIDE

With the washout last weekend, it’s always a good idea to go outside to enjoy better weather. Why not hit up the USNWC or the Father’s Day weekend activities at Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens?
