This a time and family tested recipe for a Caramel Walnut Apple cake- and it can be mixed and baked in the same pan, saving all the mess usually associated with baking!
(Note- leave the nuts out if you are allergic or don’t care for them!)
Grease a large flat baking pan- a 9” x 13” works best.
Method:
Mix by hand, batter will be very stiff. Bake 1 Hour at 350°
Ingredients:
- 3 Eggs
- 2 Cups Sugar
- 1 1/4 Cups Oil
- 3 Cups Plain Flour
- 1 Tsp Soda
- 1 Tsp Salt
- 1 Cup Walnuts (Optional)
- 1 Tsp Vanilla
- 3 Cups Diced Apples
- 2 Tsp Cinnamon
Glaze
Preparation:
Bring brown sugar, butter, and milk to a boil in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly; 1 minute. Remove from heat, and stir in vanilla extract. Stir 2 minutes; drizzle over cake immediately.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
