It looks like Gaston County will be getting Aquatic Center, to be built in Dallas. This project has been almost 30 years in the planning, and was put on hold due to Covid. The facility will actually include two pools, and offer much more that competitive swimming only.
The project is quite a coup for Dallas and Gaston County in general, as swimmers and their families will need hotels, restaurants, and other amenities as they attend swim meets. The project is the result of collaboration of private and corporate sponsors, Gaston County, the City of Dallas, and North Carolina State grants.
The Aquatic Center will be built behind Ingles and Carr Elementary in Dallas on Carpenter Street, which will be extended.
Way to go Gaston Aquatics!
