Harold Reid Lineberger (pictured at right with his wife Patsy) passed away last week.
Lineberger was a Korean war veteran and with Rutherford Electric for 30 years. Having earned a degree in animal husbandry at NC State, he was best known for his farms: Maple Springs Farm in Dallas, and Berry Hill Farm in Iron Station.
Over the years his bee friendly certified farm was visited by strawberry and pumpkin fans and multitudes of school children.
