The Gaston Community Foundation is the leading steward of philanthropic giving in Gaston County. Founded in 1978, The Gaston Foundation is a public charity governed by a local board of volunteer directors.
The Foundation has given away over $115 million in its 44 year history, and recently built a beautiful new building on the former Girl Scouts property on South New Hope Road in Gastonia. No Community Foundation dollars went towards the new building; all funds were raised or donated.
