Despite some intermittent sprinkles of rain, Mount Holly’s 2nd annual Lantern Parade went off without a hitch. Up from 200 lanterns last year, there were an estimated 500 lanterns this year- and Mount Holly’s streets were packed! Pleasant Ridge Elementary Marching Band led the way, and there was also music later in the parade by a Dixie Land Band- outrageously fun! Check out some video here, and here.
The parade began last year as a collaboration between Awaken Gallery and the Mount Holly Community Development Foundation. It drew an impressive first-year crowd and led to an even bigger turn out this year.
