The Gastonia Police Department has announced that Detective Sam Barksdale was named as a recipient of the 2024 United States Attorney General’s Award for Outstanding Service. Barksdale was given the award based on his work with the United States Marshals Service Carolina Regional Fugitive Task Force based in Charlotte.
