In July 2017, Dream Center Academy opened its doors to their first class of students- the Class of 2024. Their mission was to empower their students to own their education by developing the academic and social skills necessary to succeed in school and beyond. Their vision was for our students to become college-career ready graduates and productive citizens of our community. They are happy to announce that our “Dream” has come true!
Friday evening they celebrated their first graduating class at the Gaston Country Club. 100% of their 20 DCA seniors will be graduating college-career ready on May 24. 18 have been accepted into college and 2 will be entering trade school. 85% will be first-generation college students. The post-secondary schools our students will be attending include UNC-Chapel Hill, NC State, North Carolina A&T, UNC-Greensboro, UNC-Charlotte, Western Carolina, North Carolina Central, and Gaston College. Among our Class of 2024, we have recipients of Albert G. Myers Scholarship, The George & Patricia Barnard Scholarship, The Rotary 4-Way-Test Challenge Scholarship, and The Pay It Forward Scholarship.
