Kenny Chesney coming to Charlotte

Country star Kenny Chesney has announced he is bringing his "Here and now 2022" tour to Charlotte April 30, 2022. Also appearing will be Dan + Shay, Old Dominion, and Carly Pearce.

Gaston County Health Department offering all 3 COVID boosters as of Wednesday

Beginning Wednesday, the Gaston County Health Department will offer booster shots for the Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines.

According to the health department, you do not need to get your booster dose at the same location where you received your initial vaccination. In addition, you can get a different brand of the vaccine than what you received the first time.

Gaston College adds $16.5 mil Fiber Innovation & Textile Academy


A groundbreaking ceremony was held last week by college leaders for the new Fiber Innovation Center. The 39,000 foot facility
will include an extrusion center for advanced fibers and incubation space for entrepreneurs to assist the textile industry.
"Unfortunately, there is nowhere in the U.S. where you can develop innovative polymer and fiber and process it efficiently into commercially viable forms. Until today," said Davis Warlick, executive vice president of Parkdale Mills. "The Fiber Innovation Center at Gaston College Kimbrell Campus will be a world-class innovation center focused on the future of the textiles industry."
Local business owners on Most Admired CEO's list

Jack and Robin Salzman
, and Brandon Bellamy have been honored by being listed on the Charlotte Business Journal's Most Admired CEO's.  They will be honored, along with other recipients, at a November 18th event at the J W Marriott Hotel in uptown Charlotte.

The Salzmans own Lake Norman and Gastonia Dodge Jeep Ram. Brandon Bellamy owns the Gastonia Honey Hunters Baseball team.


 
New Bojangles open

The new Bojangles on Beatty Drive in Mount Holly is open! They got rid of the barrels that were there for 200 years, and now Bojangles is open!
Panthers are 4 & 4  after winning against Atlanta

After fumbling on the very first play of the game, the Panthers defense held Atlanta QB Matt Ryan to 146 yards passing. Sam Darnold, object of much critisicm coming into the game, looked good until he left the game in the middle of the fourth quarter with a concussion, due to a vicious hit by Atlanta linebacker Foy Olokun.
