Researchers at UNC may have found a weakness in the virus
The mutation that helps the virus spread faster may actually be weakness.A new mutation of the virus causes an opening in one of the spikes, allowing it to more easily infect human cells, but it also leaves an open pathway that leaves it vulnerable. That pathway may leave an opening for antibodies, which vaccine makers hope to exploit.
