Our friend Boyce McKinney is close to finishing the Coca-Cola mural in Mt. Holly. All that's left is the "Sprite-Boy".   Yup, the Sprite Boy- and he doesn't have anything to do with the Sprite lemon lime soft drink. Find out more about the Sprite-Boy here...
9 chained and scarred dogs rescued from alleged dog fighting ring

Rico Pagan is being held on $175,000 bond in the Gaston County Detention Center, charged with 18 felony charges related to dog fighting, cruelty to animals, and drug possession.

You've been warned!

Going to a Honey Hunters game, or to pick up tickets? Don't park in the Sav-A-Lot grocery's parking lot. Doing so could get your car booted- and it costs $200 to have it removed. Save-A-Lot has signs posted that say "No Parking for Honey Hunters", but evidently some people don't believe that lightning will strike.
Gaston leaders trying to spur aviation growth

The Gaston County Economic Development Aircraft Financial Incentive Program hopes to lure new planes and airplane hangers to the City owned Gastonia Municipal Airport. The City will provide 3 year grants to those companies that make at least a $10 million dollar investment.

Donny Hicks,  the executive director of the Gaston County Economic Development Commission, said the county wants as many planes based at Gastonia Municipal as possible. While the runway at the airport may be shorter than most, Hicks said trying to spur more investment is an attempt to better maximize the airport as an asset.
