As a follow up to our Craft Breweries and Spirits issue, here a few cool places that aren't breweries but offer plenty of craft brews...

The Summit Beer Shop in Mount Holly is already a big favorite with locals. Located at 122 South Main Street in Mount Holly, they feature a selection of craft beers, wines, and ciders. More info here...

Grape & Barley is a long time favorite in Gastonia. They offer a large selection of craft beers and wines, and have lots of tastings and other activities Check out their calendar- they have lot's going on!

The String Bean in Belmont does a lot of things well, and their craft beer selection is no different. They offer over 200 craft beers, a large wine selection, along with monthly beer and wine tastings. Check it out...

Join Hive Design in downtown Gastonia for an English smocking class and make your own Easter bonnet

Instructor: Ann Edel
Time: 10:00am - 12:00pm
Registration fee: $65.00

Supplies will be provided, but we ask that you please bring your own set of small embroidery scissors with you to the class. Attendees will be taught basic stitches with the goal of completing an easter bonnet for an infant or small child by the conclusion of the workshop.

It was cool having the Canisius College Rowing Team is town last week for spring training. They trained twice a day at the Belmont Rowing Center and hung out at Belmont Abby.
