Today is May 17, 2022.Did you see the Blood Moon on Sunday night? Pretty cool! For many ancient civilizations, the “blood moon” came with evil intent. The ancient Inca people interpreted the deep red coloring as a jaguar attacking and eating the moon. They believed that the jaguar might then turn its attention to Earth, so the people would shout, shake their spears and make their dogs bark and howl, hoping to make enough noise to drive the jaguar away.So we are about 10 days into of our summer driveabout. Still in Fort Myers Beach Florida...spent yesterday with the fam at the beach. Still haven't been to eat seafood- can't wait! Life is rough here in Fort Myers Beach Florida

A review of Drift, the new restaurant on Lake Wylie in Belmontby Erin Tracy-Blackwood
We tried Drift last night on their opening weekend. We know and love the executive chef from when he was at The Wooden Vine in uptown. His seafood game is immaculate, so that’s what we ordered. I’d rate it 9/10 because it was perfectly plated & cooked, just slightly under seasoned for me. A few cool menu things: They start you with delicious fresh baked pumpernickel-rye bread & honey butter. You can add fresh shaved truffle to any dish. They have a dessert charcuterie board.
Cocktails were really good. Well balanced. I love that they’re using aquafaba instead of egg white. I was also personally excited to see espresso martinis. Wine list was fantastic. Many options that aren’t run-of-the-mill.
The vibes were beautiful. It’s hard to beat a full moon over the water on a perfect spring night. I’m just glad they complemented the experience with their music selection instead of killing it with polarizing choices like I’ve seen so many places around here do.
At their price point, the service needs a bit of work. There were multiple un-bussed tables when we arrived and it took awhile to be greeted once we were seated. I think this is an industry-wide issue right now with labor shortage combined with the normal opening weekend kinks that get resolved.
Overall, I would 100% recommend it alongside Webb & Barristers for a date night, celebrating a special occasion, or when you want a great meal with chef-driven food & a world-class wine list.This review originally appeared as a Facebook post on the In Gaston page. Cramer Mountain golf course rated one of toughestCramer Mountain golf course was ranked the fifth toughest in the Charlotte Metro area by the U.S.G.A. slope rating.
