CorrectionIn last weeks newsletter we stated that the City of Gastonia had asked residents of Faith, Hope and Love Ministries to leave the church property by 8 am last Monday morning. This was incorrect. Pastor Moses Colbert with Faith, Hope, and Love had asked the residents to leave, not the City.Pastor Moses Colbert and Faith, Hope, and Love Ministries have been at odds with the City for some months. According to the City of Gastonia, Pastor Colbert currently owes the City a substantial sum for violating various zoning ordinances.
New Mexican restaurant "La Vaca " opens in BelmontA new Mexican restaurant has opened in Belmont at 7015 Wilkinson Boulevard. They are in the old Dairy Queen location.
Pizza + Buffet is going, Cicis is coming...
Joe Scarborough has announced that he has sold Pizza + Buffet to Cicis Pizza. Cicis will be coming back to their old location in Franklin Square. Cics is expected to open September 11th.
Gastonia smash and grab turned into smash and runThree masked and hooded robbers picked the wrong jewelry store to rob. Morris Jewelers owner Michael Hennes saw the hooded robbers walk through the front door.
“I just reacted. I knew what was about to happen,” said Hennes.The robbers broke two jewelry cases before they notice Hennes pointing a gun at them and telling them to leave. The trio left immediately. Hennes followed them outside hoping to get a tag number, but there was none. The thieves did $7000 of damage, but did not get any merchandise. No one was hurt.
Cleome at Tuckaseege Park Pollinator Garden. Cleome is a genus in Cleomaceae (spider flower) family. This genus contains over 100 species and many cultivars. Cleome is a tall garden plant that can reach 6 feet tall but dwarf varieties are available making it useful for smaller gardens. There are the number one ranked public high school in the Charlotte Metro area U.S News, in conjunction with global nonprofit social science research firm RTI International, evaluates high schools across six measures. Whataburger coming to Charlotte?Not Gaston County but closer than Texas or California...it looks like the popular burger chain may be coming to Charlotte, based on several city filings Not to be confused with local What-A-Burger restaurants, Whataburger is a sort of upscale fast food joint. As far as what it tastes like, they have a few food types. First of all they use thicker hambuger patties than most restaurants. This equates to a juicier burger experience. We are keeping our fingers crossed!

Insignis Partners is targeting 384 acre developement near Catawba Two Kings Casino in Kings MountainGreenville South Carolina based Insiginis Partners is proposing a huge mixed use development in Kings Mountain and the Catawba Two Kings Casino.
Their project, called Dixon Ridge, is being presented as a "vibrant mix of industrial, research and development, and residential space" by the development team.The plans include parks and walking trails, tennis and pickleball courts, a greenway trail system, and 57 acres of open space.The public approval process could take several months.
