Today it will be mostly cloudy and not as warm, humid with a thunderstorm, and a high of 76. Tonight there will be considerable clouds and humid, with a couple of showers, and a low of 67.
Confederate statue back in the newsA court hearing regarding the Confederate statue in front of the Gaston county Courthouse has been continued. No new date has been set at this time.After a deal with the Sons of Confederate Veterans fell through, in August of 2020 Gaston County Commissioners voted 4-3 to keep the statue in front of the courthouse.
Gaston Schools to stick with masks-for nowYour kids are going to have to wear masks while inside school buildings, at least through October 18. The motion to continue the mask mandate was passed by the Gaston County Board of Education by a 6-3 margin.

Panthers are 2-0 after beating lackluster SaintsThe Panthers beat the hapless Saints yesterday at Bank of America Stadium. Jameis Winston made some poor decisions for the Saints, but in fairness, he was pressured on two-thirds of his drop backs. Hard to believe, and it's still early, etc., etc., but the Panthers are the #1 defense in the NFL.

Main Street Social has opened in Stanley. They serve fresh roasted coffee, local craft beers and wine. We stopped in on Saturday night and they were hopping! They had Mabry's Q House food truck there-delish! They are located just down from the Woodshed.
