Pulte buys more land for Carolina riverside project in Belmont
In July the PulteGroup Inc. bought bought another 63.4 acres off of Armstrong Ford Road in Belmont for over $2.7 million. Their project called Carolina Riverside began sales this January, which is expected to include 809 single family homes on 462 acres. The homes are restricted to residentsage 55 and up.
How are Gaston County Schools doing?According the the State Department of Education, most North Carolina students saw gains in most grades and subjects in the school year 2023-2024.

Front Porch & Provisions set to open in DallasAfter some unexpected delays, Front Porch & Provisions in Dallas is set to open next Tuesday, the 24th at 1PM.They will serve pasties, sandwiches, salads, and snacks. They will also have a children's menu. Scope it out.They are also dog friendly and have corn hole.
Movement in the Asha Degree case, "Shelby's Sweetheart"
We normally only report good news, but this is good news in a sad sort of way. Asha Degree has been missing since 2000. Evidently she left home in the middle of the night of unknown reasons, and was never seen again.Search warrants were released yesterday involving a search related to the Asha Degree case. Authorities believe that Asha was the victim of a homicide, and that there may have been concealment of her death. Although not explicitly stated, there is the possibility that Roy and Connie Dedmon of Cleveland County may be connected to her death.More...
