Belmont Police raise awarenessPurple is the color of Domestic Awareness month, and Belmont Police are wearing purple patches to show support. You can have one too- the patches are available at the Belmont Police Department and Sammy's restaurant in downtown Belmont. The patches are $5, and all monies raised go to Hope United Survivor Network of Gaston County.

Heirloom close to opening in Belmont?
We hear the Heirloom restaurant is looking for staff, so hopefully that means they are close to opening. The popular restaurant moved form their Charlotte location to North Main Station on Glenway Street in Belmont. They will take 3 of the 5 spaces in North Main Station, including the Bumblebee Bakery, which they also own. The restaurant space looks fairly finished, with just a few things left to button up. The Bakery has a little farther to go, as it is just now having floors put down.
Pizza + Buffet coming to old CiCi's locationJoe and Carie Scarborough are opening a new restaurant in the old CiCi's location. Evidently it will be a similar concept, but with upgraded food and serce. They plan to be open the week of Thanksgiving.
Panthers are 3-3 after losing to the VikingsThe Panthers lost to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday 34-28 in overtime. The Panthers loosed pretty awful in the first half, as did Sam Darnold. To be fair, Darnold got no help from his receivers. The Panthers finished the day with 306 offensive yards, and went 2 for 12 on third down conversions.

Major progress at Chronicle Mill in BelmontConstruction on the Chronicle Mill in Belmont is moving along swimmingly.They plan to start leasing in the spring of 2022, so not too far away.The Chronicle Mill was Belmont's first textile mill. The new Chronicle will offer apartments, as well as retail, restaurant, and office space.

Have you seen Wiley Coyote?Actually, if you have heard nighttime coyote howling, there is a reason for that. This is the time of year that juvenile coyotes leave their parents and search for territories of their own.Coyotes don't dwell in thick forests, preferring to be near people- which are sources of food...and small pets. If you have a small pet, it may not be a good idea to let them out alone at night. Coyotes will generally avoid humans, but if venturing out at night it may be a good idea to keep you pet on a leash.
State to listen to Piedmont mining concernsState officials will be here is person to hear concerns from residents affected by the Piedmont Lithium project in Northwest Gaston County. The meeting will take place November 15th from 6:30-9:30 PM in the commissioners room on the second floor of the Gaston County courthouse. An information session will take place at the same location from 5:30-6:00 PM.Belmont based Piedmont Lithium already owns approximately 3100 acres east of Cherryville.
