Happy Resolution for A Special ManDennis Peek, who had been working at the same Wendy’s for over two decades, was fired by new management for not being able to do his job like a “normal person”.  This story went viral on social media.Once his hometown of Stanley heard this, they decided to throw him a retirement party on November 5th.It doesn’t stop there though, the Mount Holly Police Department is making his dream come true and swearing him in as an honorary police officer. This would have not been possible without the support of the Gaston County Community who rallied for him on social media.

From time to time, Gaston Animal Care and Enforcement gives a dog who is up for adoption a very special day! Most recently, Gaston ACE brought Zapallo with them to the Gaston County Museum to meet the museum curator Alicyn and help decorate for their Día de Muertos festival on November 5th. This little shepherd boy loved to run and play, but he was a LOT more interested in being held and snuggled for a nap! If you’d like to adopt Zapallo (which means Pumpkin in Spanish), then head on over to their website to check him and his friends out.https://www.gastongov.com/497/Animal-Care-Enforcemen
