Belmont Abbey ranks 6th on list of Charlotte Metro colleges and universitiesBased on Fall 2022 list of Metro Charlotte universitie's undergraduate enrollment, Belmont Abbey placed 6th, with 1,478 enrolled. That number paced them jut behind Gardner-Webb in undergrad enrollment. Interestingly, Belmont Abbey charges $18,500 per year for both in-state and out of state tuition. That number is substantially more than UNC Charlotte's $3812, annual tuition, but only slightly more than UNCC's $17,936 out of state tuition.

No surprise- your Christmas tree is going to cost moreChristmas trees have gone up 10to 15% this year, primarily due to inflation and fuel prices, according to local tree lots. That doesn't seem to be dampening folks Christmas spirit ...or tree buying. We were at two different local lots this weekend, and they were both super busy.
Belmont's Festival of Trees is open in Stowe Park every day and evening through January 1st. In the upper field of Stowe Park there is Oh Starry Night, luminaries will be lit every night throughout December.All proceeds from the Oh Starry Night Luminary Campaign will benefit pediatric cancer patients and families.
Christmas in the City is on Sunday, December 4 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM in downtown Gastonia and CaroMont Health Park. The event kicks off with the Gaston County Jaycees Christmas Parade down Main Avenue to CaroMont Health Park at 5:00 PM.
The City of Gastonia Vendor Marketplace will begin at 5:00 PM at CaroMont Health Park and the Keep Gastonia Beautiful Tree Lighting* will begin at CaroMont Health Park following the conclusion of the parade. Both the tree lighting and marketplace will conclude at 8:00 PM. The event will feature Santa, entertainment, vendors, and more! More information regarding the parade, tree lighting, and marketplace will be posted in the coming months.

Panthers beat the Broncos 23-10How do you like us now?Well, well, well, look at the Panthers now. In a rotating cast of quarterbacks on Sunday, Sam Darnold had a great game, with a QB rating of 103.8. (Anything above 95 is considered stellar).Running back D'Onta Foreman had another 100 yard day, with 113 yards on 24 carries. Another bright spot was wide receiver DJ Moore who made 4 catches for 103 yards and a touchdown.Interestingly, Cade Mays, a 6'6" 325 pound guard for the Panthers, started the game at fullback while filling in for the injured Giovanni Ricci.The Bronco's QB Russell Wilson didn't have a fun day. He was 19 of 35 for 142 yards, and was sacked 3 times. He did throw one pass for a touchdown.The Panthers have a bye week next week. They play the Seahawks December 11th at Seattle.
