Speaking of Mexico and Mexican food, Casa Azul is coming to Gastonia to the old Hooters location. We have eaten at the one in Shelby, and will have to say it is great food and a really nice ambience. Great addition to the Gaston County food scene.
Silver Line light rail to Belmont?I keep looking for a glimmer of hope for the Silver Line light rail to come to Belmont from Charlotte...someday. So CATS has recently proposed dropping Bus Rapid Transit from their plans, saying Light Rail is preferred for the entire 26 mile project. Which is good.But estimates of $350 million per mile for light rail mean it may be decades before the Silver Line is extended to Belmont. Right now extending the Silver Line into Belmont and Gaston County are listed as long term and "as financial capacity allows".
