Drift restaurant on Lake Wylie to open next MondayDrift, at 315-M Lanyard Lane in Belmont, is just below Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden. The 15,000 square foot restaurant has water views, upstairs and downstairs covered patios, and private event space.Their signature dish will be an 8 oz filet mignon with garlic butter, served with a lobster crab cake and asparagus with bearnaise sauce.You can scope out their great looking menu, and find out more here...

Catawba Two Kings Casino to offer a poker room and an on-site sports book
Mark Heintzman with Delaware North, the gaming operator working with the King's Mountain casino had this to say recently, "Through its gaming compact, the current temporary casino offers electronic table games for blackjack and other popular table games. The compact also includes the possibility to add video poker, and we are currently exploring that option. We do not have a timetable for construction on the permanent casino but hope to announce that later this year. … We are currently reviewing all options for table and video games, including poker, that will be available at the permanent casino. An on-site sportsbook is planned to open later this spring.

New music and performance venue to openMichael Carpenter and his wife love live music and performances, and on the way home from Charlotte one night they talked about opening a venue in Gastonia.Their website says their new venue- The Rooster- is coming soon.“I hope this will be a home for the arts. Not just musicians, but artists of all types: comedians, stand-up. We’d like to get some stage plays in. I’ve even been in contact with someone about bringing in an improv group,” said owner Michael Carpenter.
