Gaston Aquatic Center becoming a realityAfter many years, and several false starts, the Gaston Aquatic Center is about to become a reality. Heavy equipment is on site in Dallas, and the prefab metal building has been shipped. The Gaston Aquatics board is optimistic that the building and the pool will be complete by the end of the year. You read that right- maybe by November or December!This facility will be the only true competitive aquatic center in Gaston County. West of Gaston County, the closest aquatic enter is at Appalachian State University in Boone. There are other pools, but this facility will provide an Olympic-distance (50 meter) cold, competition pool, along with competition/designated elevated spectator seating (and other design features that align with USA Swimming Safe Sport).This new facility will offer:

The Center will offer swim lessons, memberships for swimming laps or participating in exercise programs, and much, much more. One of the most exciting things is the economic impact this will have on Dallas and Gaston County as a whole.Find out more

Casa Azul is coming to Gastonia to the old Hooters location. We spoke to the owner, and they are waiting on inspection and hope to be open the middle of June. They have restaurants in Shelby and Lincolnton that get rave reviews.

Skechers is backAfter all the hullabaloo about whether Skechers was here or wasn't here, they are officially back. They are located beside Michael's in Gastonia.Time to get those slip-ons!

The Holland Wine Bar & Restaurant  has opened in Mount Holly. So far, the reviews look great! They are located at 100 North Main Street in Mont Holly.More

Our friend Keanu Trujillo is not letting any grass grow under his feet.
