Belmont Drive-In reopening?
One starry night many moons ago, my wife and I took a blanket and snuggled up against the front of my MG Midget and watched a movie at the Belmont Drive-In. And then they closed.BUT, a little bird told us they are coming back! I sure hope that's true! We'll keep you posted!

Knowledge Perk Coffee Company open in McAdenville
We are late to the party, but Knowledge Perk Coffee Company has opened in McAdenville. They are located on the corner at the stoplight in the center of town.
Filmmakers have their eyes on Belmont
Freelance film scout and production manager Wende Whitus, here with Rotarian Sam Stowe, says Belmont has all of the qualities necessary to attract more filmmakers to bring jobs and dollars here.
Wende Whitus, a freelancer who works in conjunction with the Charlotte Regional Film Commission, recently spoke to the Belmont Rotary Club. She was the guest of Sam Stowe.
Whitus has worked on two recent film projects in Belmont. Scenes were shot for the film "Gigi & Nate" at Stowe Manor and downtown last year, and just a few weeks ago, actors and production crews were shooting for a television series called "Blue Ridge" on downtown streets, at the City Hall building, the former middle school and nearby at a house on Hill Street.

Rubber Ducks galore!
Part of 50,000 rubber ducks at the Whitewater Center at the Kindermourn EventThe Quack was back with a huge splash at KinderMourn’s 19th Annual Hope Floats Duck Race, the third largest duck race in the country. It was a record-breaking year for the number of adopted ducks, participating teams and fundraising.On April 30, 50,000 rubber ducks rushed through the Whitewater Center’s rapids as part of a festival of hope and healing. More than $325,000 was raised and KinderMourn’s 1,000 flock of supporters – including 158 teams – participated in the family-friendly event that featured the duck race, activities and entertainment.Every adopted rubber duck allows KinderMourn to continue its mission of providing a sanctuary and a safe haven to bereaved parents and grieving children and teens who have suffered an unthinkable loss.
