Gaston County is growingAccording to the US Census Bureau, Gaston County is growing. Our 2024 population estimate is 242,000. That means we have gained 3,857 folks, which ranks us 12th in North Carolina.For comparison, Iredell County , which is about the same size as Gaston, added 6,050 people in 2024.
