Today is June 7, 2022.
Now we are about 32 days into our summer road trip. Last week we were in Santa Fe. Santa Fe is home to the breathtaking Georgia O'Keefe Museum, which left a lasting impression. We also took a day trip trip to Los Alamos, where the Manhattan project developed the atomic bomb. Sobering stuff.We also visited the Loretto Chapel, which is best known for its' "miraculous staircase".
The staircase makes two full turns, all without the support of a newel or central pole. The staircase is built mostly out of wood and is held together by wooden pegs and glue rather than nails or other hardware.

Caromont Health among largest local employers
Caromont Health placed 11th in a list of Metro Charlotte's largest employers, with 4300 employees. Originally Gaston Memorial, Caromont was established in 1945 on North Highland Street in Gastonia. The hospital has grown and expanded dramatically over the years. Their latest project is a small full service hospital near Belmont Abbey College in Belmont.
