Today is June 14, 2022.
We are about 37 days into our summer road trip. Last week was spent mostly in the Grand Canyon in Arizona. I almost hate to post any pics, because they never do the Canyon justice. We also went to Bearizona Wildlife Park in Williams Arizona, which is a commercial wildlife park. It is mostly drive through, but they also have a "normal" walk-through zoo. They have lots of bears, wolves, "white" buffalo, and much, much more. Pretty cool.
In the distance: Desert View Watch Tower in the Grand Canyon. A National Historic Landmark, the Watchtower was constructed in 1932.The design by Mary Colter, is based on the architecture of the Ancestral Puebloan people of the Southwest.

Regina Moody to retire at Holy Angels
Holy Angels’ long-time Chief Executive Officer Regina Moody will be transitioning out of her role, remaining only as president of the nonprofit. Her shift makes way for Kerri Massey, a devoted and faithful member of Holy Angels’ leadership team, to assume the role of CEO beginning in July.
Kerri Massey has 24 years of dedicated experience with Holy Angels, currently serving as its executive vice president and chief operating officer. Since 2021, she has been transitioning into the leadership role under the tutelage of outgoing CEO Moody. Massey will officially assume the title beginning July 1, 2022.
Hans Kissle Co. breaks ground on new $42 million dollar facilityOfficials and VIP's were on hand last Thursday to break ground on an new $42 million dollar facility located in the Apple Creek Corporate Park in Gastonia.Hans Kissle is planning a 100,000 square foot facility, and is expected to employ 219 workers.

NC Republican senators Tillis & Burr part of gun violence agreementNC Senators Thom Tillis and Richard Burr were part of a bipartisan group that put together a gun violence agreement. “Families are scared, and it is our duty to come together and get something done that will help restore their sense of safety and security in their communities,” the lawmakers said.The agreement would make the records of juvenile gun buyers under 21 available when they undergo background checks. It would also provide money to states to put in place "red flag laws" to make it easier to get guns out of the hands of persons that are potentially violent. It would also provide funds for mental health and school safety programs.The new plan seems to have at least some bipartisan support, although it lacks an assault weapons ban that Democrats had desired.
