Happy Tuesday Gaston County! It's David, and today is February 7th, 2023.Today is Not National Pizza Day- but Thursday is!But isn't every day pizza day? Veggie, meat lovers, supreme, or the best- pineapple and ham! I know some of you pizza heathens disagree, but have you tried it?

Delta Industrial Park should be complete by May or JuneTrinity Capital Advisors says Delta Industrial Park in Gastonia should be complete by May or June. The 878,104 square foot industrial building can accommodate one of multiple tenants.The project is on Delta Drive in Gastonia, near Exit 14 of I-85.

Helicopter suffers "hard landing" at Gaston County AirportThe Gastonia Police Department reported that First Responders were on the scene at the Gaston County Airport Friday afternoon. According to the Gaston County Sheriff's Department a helicopter had a "hard landing".No other aircraft were affected, and no injuries were reported.

Dollar Express open in Mount HollyDollar Express is open in downtown Mount Holly at 111 North Main street. They have helium balloons and valentines decor and products typically found in a dollar or dollar plus type retail store .

Papa's & Beer making progress
Papa's & Beer in Dallas is making progress towards opening, according to owner Crystal Ibarra. They have a meeting with the Gaston County Health Department tomorrow, and hope to get their ABC permit in the next week or so. If all goes well, they plan to be open by the end of February.
Twin TopsIt's been a tough 2 1/2 years for the owners of Twin Tops Fish Camp. Owner Dana Ratchford says the remodel has been a real Pandora's box, with one unpleasant surprise after another.No ETA on reopening yet, but they are making progress.They are currently installing a new roof. Right now they have carry out only, three days a week.Keep your chin up guys- I know Gaston County is hungry for some Twin Tops seafood!


American Deli open in Gastonia
American Deli opened about 30 days ago in Gastonia in Akers Center, just down from Lebo's.Their menu doesn't seem to be too heavily deli actually , but you can check it out here...

Carowinds celebrates 50 years, new attractionCarowinds, a local favorite of many, opened in March of 1973. They are celebrating in part by opening a new attraction called Aeronautica Landing. The attraction replaces the Crossroads section of Carowinds.The area will have five new air themed rides. Three of those-Gear Spin, Air Walker and Air Racer are already in place.

Gastonia church finds new home, and more"The Place" Church caught fire on Christmas Day, and was completely demolished. Remnants of the church sit inside a fence in their former location along York Highway.News of the fire prompted a phone call from another pastor. “The pastor that was pastoring [Chapel Grove Church of God], had been pastor for seven years, and they had been through some struggles and couldn’t support itself financially,” said Pastor Ron Duncan. “He said, ‘This is a great opportunity. You had a disaster and we’re in a dilemma, as well.” The congregations have since combined.The new location boasts more parking, a larger sanctuary, and a gymnasium.

Looking for Indiana JonesOkay, not exactly. We are looking for men who are open minded and intellectually curious to join our group. We read and discuss books, go to museums and art galleries, music events and to hear various speakers.
