New bill may raise speed limits to 75 on NC InterstatesSo how fast do you drive on the interstate? Are you the guy doing 45 in the left lane with a mile of cars backed up behind you? State lawmakers are proposing a change to let drivers go 75 miles per hour on certain highways based on an engineering and traffic study. Currently the limit is 70.As part of the bill, speeders who go over 80 in a 70 zone, or over 85 in a 75 zone, could be guilty of a Class 3 misdemeanor. If convicted of operating a vehicle at over 85 miles per hour, a driver's license could be suspended without a preliminary hearing.

From Mount Holly Parks and Rec:
“Have you seen the work going on over on Glendale Avenue?! We are making way and setting the stage for what is soon to be Ransom Hunter Park.
This park will honor Ransom Hunter, Gaston County’s first freed African American to own property. It will serve as a community gathering space on the very same land the Hunter Family gathered for decades and will tell the story of the Hunter family’s history on the property.
Weather permitting, we expect to see families enjoying this park by mid summer!
