Mount Holly Medical Park to be developedMount Holly Medical Park is being developed by Davis Moore Healthcare Practice Group in. The Park will be located in Mount Holy right across Highway 273 from the Caromont Regional Health Center-Belmont, just off Exit 27 on I-85.There will be two tenants; one is Carolina Neurosurgery & Spine Associates, and the other has not been disclosed.
Belmont Pita Wheel slated for Mid-March 2023Contrary to what you may see on Facebook, the Belmont Pita Wheel is expected to open mid March ...next month (not 2024).They are located at 55 Glenway Street in Belmont, formerly the home of Gelnway Premium Pub.
Gastonia Bed Bath & Beyond to closeThe Bed Bath & Beyond store at 401 Cox Road is closing, along with a location in Hickory, and other stores nationwide. Bed Bath & Beyond is closing it's lower producing stores in an effort to stave off bankruptcy. We are told that the Gastonia store will close mid-April.
Gastonia man wins $1 million on scratch off“I was going to walk out the door, but something told me to just go ahead and get it,” Ronnie Woods said of his recent purchase of a NC Lottery 50 X The Cash Ticket. Woods purchased the ticket at Save Mart on Union Road in Gastonia.Instead of the annuity, Wood chose to take the lump sum amount of $600k, which gave him a net of $427,503.

City of Gastonia spending $75 million to prop up infrastructureGastonia passed a transportation referendum bond in November, and plans to begin with spending $10 million on needed fixes to city roads.The city has worked to prepare a list of roads that most need repair. The second phase focuses on safety improvements for schools, parks, accessibility to businesses, and transit. They will also work on increasing parking.
What's next for the Panther's QB roster?First of all, Josh McCown is the new QB coach. McCown is a former NFL starting and backup, with 18 years in the league.It looks like Sam Darnold and PJ Walker both have a chance of sticking around, while the Panthers may focus on free agency and the draft to find a long term signal caller. What about Matt Corral? He really hasn't had a chance to show much. He suffered a Lisfranc injury last year in the preseason.As far as the draft goes, Bryce Young out of Alabama is on everyone's quarterback radar, and will probably go in the first three picks. Young is small for an NFL QB at 5' 10" and 194 pounds.To get him the Panthers would probably need to trade with the Bears for the first overall pick.Probably the other top contender in the draft is C.J.Stroud out of Ohio State. at 6'3"' and 215 pounds, Stroud is the prototypical size of an NFL quarterback. Stroud threw for 3,688 yards, 41 touchdowns with just 6 interceptions his senior year at Ohio State. The Panthers would need to trade up to acquire Stroud.

Gastonia exploring linking walking trails to Crowders MountainThe North Carolina Department of Transportation awarded $103,000 to the city to conduct a feasibility study to consider linking downtown Gastonia to Crowders Mountain. According to the Catawba Lands Conservancy the goal would be to connect two Carolina Thread Trail segments that would facilitate access to parks and businesses.North Carolina Sate Parks recently announced that $2 million would be granted to Crowders Mountain to improve hiking trails.
