 Today will be partly sunny and cooler, with  a high of 47. Tonight will be clear and cold, with  a low of 27.

Looks like Santa will be at Eastridge Mall this year after all, beginning December 12. From their Facebook page "

New Industrial Project in North Belmont

According to our sources two new industrial buildings will be built on the former site of a Parkdale Mill in North Belmont. The site is bordered by Woodlawn and Cason Streets. They will have rail access and the site is close to I85. No word yet on possible tenants.

The Charlotte Hornets will play their home games at Spectrum Center without fans to begin the 2020-2021 season.

“We will continue to work with state and local health officials, as well as the NBA, to develop a plan that will allow fans to return to Spectrum Center in both a safe and timely manner,” the Hornets said in a statement. “We are optimistic that conditions will improve in the coming months and hope to be able to have fans in attendance later in the season. The Hornets were 23-42 last season.

HB2 expiring...

Portions of the law that replaced North Carolina’s HB2 “bathroom bill” expire on Tuesday, allowing cities to pass new nondiscrimination ordinances. But Charlotte seems to be in no hurry to adopt new rules. Two Democratic council members said “they are worried that if Charlotte acts alone, it will be a repeat of 2016 again, with Republicans in Raleigh overturning their ordinance,” WFAE’s Steve Harrison reported
