, and a low of 71. There is a possibility of a weak and brief tornado or two, according to the National Weather Service.
Two Charlotte trolleys coming to Belmont?
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Historic Landmarks Commission voted earlier this month to explore leasing at least one, if not two, historic trolleys to Belmont. Currently the Commission is in possession of two trolleys, #1, and #85, which are not being used. The commission seemed to feel that the trolleys would be better preserved in use and in running condition, rather than sitting in storage. If the lease agreement goes through, Belmont would have at least two trolleys, as they already have one that is being refurbished.

Gaston county employees get $250 for vaccinationAny Gaston county employee that gets vaccinated by October 15 will receive $250.If more than 75% get vaccinated by October 15,those employees will receive another $250, according to County officials.“The longer we go with a significant percentage of our employees not vaccinated, the greater risk we put ourselves in operationally,” Gaston County Manager Dr. Kim Eagle said.

Gaston County's Apple Creek Corporate Center appears to land new company
Late last week, the Gaston County Board of Commissioners authorized the sale of 26.8 acres at the park for "Project Ashbury." County documents state the company behind the project is a food manufacturer that makes pre-packaged meals sold at grocery and convenience stores. The company would hire invest $48 million and hire about 230 people at the new manufacturing facility, county leaders said. The average wage for those jobs would be around $41,000.
