Evidently bringing back free pie on Wednesdays wasn't enough...They closed on Sunday.

Cherryville tells museum to vacate propertyThe City of Cherryville has asked the Cherryville Historical Association to vacate from their current location by the end of the year. The city is selling the building to Patrick O''Leary, owner of 27 building parcels in and around town.Al Putnam, President of the Historical Society, has filed an  affadavit asking that the court declare the building the property of the Historical Association, based on their long tenancy there. There is a court hearing September 5th.

Piedmont Lithium still planning to move aheadDespite a cool reception from Gaston County citizens and officials, Piedmont Lithium is moving ahead with plans to potentially  open in 2025.On May 20th , the NC Department of Energy, Mining, and Land Resources sent a Piedmont a  distinct request for information (or ADI), and a response is requi8red by November 26th. Piedmont plans to respond in as timely a manner as possible in order to expedite the process.  "We remain extremely pleased with the significant progress we have made in our planning to date and are looking forward to advancing to the rezoning and approval process with Gaston County following receipt of our state mining permit," said Monique Parker , Piedmont's Senior Vice President of Safety, Environment, and Health.Big money seems certain of getting their way.

Pharr sells former Pharr Yarns Clover plant for $7.4 millionBelmont Land and Investment Company, owned by Pharr, sold their Clover plant to Hickory based OneH2 Incorporated in July. The site includes a 246,091 square foot building, and approximately 30 acres. The intended use for the site is unclear at this time. OneH2 develops end-to-end solutions for the delivery and production of hydrogen fuel from molecule to nozzle This includes on-site generation. delivered hydrogen, and operations and maintenance.

She is the founding executive director of Hands On Charlotte, a preeminent regional volunteer service provider, as well as a former consultant for alumni engagement services at her alma mater and former board chair for Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte. Quisenberry currently serves as a certified interim and transition consultant for nonprofit organizations across the greater Charlotte area.Peninger has led Habitat Gaston since May 2019, guiding the organization through considerable growth, innovation and community outreach and support. Her tireless advocacy for affordable housing revitalized Habitat Gaston, leading the nonprofit through the pandemic and into new programs, increased fundraising efforts and the development of the forthcoming 7.5-acre, mixed-income Dixon Village community in North Belmont, N.C. 

Southwood Realty sells Concord Ridge apartments for $71.3 millionGastonia's Southwood Realty recently sold the Concord Ridge apartments in Concord to Alabama based real estate firm StoneRiver Co. for $71.3 million.That works out to $212,000 per unit.Southwood Realty owns apartment communities in North and South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and Virginia.
